Is HummingDeck cheaper than DocSend?+
On monthly billing, HummingDeck Starter is $10 per month for one user and DocSend Personal is $15 per user per month. Team plans: HummingDeck Pro is $25 per user, DocSend Standard is $65 per user. Annual billing lowers both. The included jobs differ: DocSend Personal includes four eSignatures per month, while HummingDeck Starter includes per-page analytics and click tracking but no native eSignature. Compare the plan that includes the control you need.
Does DocSend limit visitors?+
DocSend's current pricing page lists unlimited visitors on paid plans, so older comparisons citing a 100-visitor Personal cap are outdated; the free trial has separate limits. HummingDeck has no view or visitor caps on any plan.
How does HummingDeck handle automated security visits?+
Corporate email security tools can open links before the recipient does. HummingDeck uses browser, network, and interaction signals to filter known or likely automated visits and reduce scanner noise. No filter catches every automated event, and remaining activity is not proof of a human viewer. DocSend takes a different approach: it flags data-center visits as atypical and leaves them in the activity feed for review.
Does HummingDeck replace DocSend's eSignature?+
HummingDeck does not provide legally binding eSignature. Rooms can record an accept or decline decision inside a workflow, but that is an acknowledgment, not a signature with legal evidence. Keep DocSend or another approved signature platform when the workflow requires one.
Can HummingDeck replace a DocSend data room?+
A HummingDeck Room supports lightweight fundraising, sales, onboarding, and client sharing. It does not replace DocSend Advanced Data Rooms when you need group permissions, automatic indexing, due-diligence tracking, formal audit logs, NDA gates, or dynamic watermarking.
Can HummingDeck detect a forwarded link?+
HummingDeck does not observe a forwarding event. An additional-viewer signal may reflect forwarding, another device, or another stakeholder, but it proves none of those explanations and does not prove a distinct person or identity. Location, device, and engagement depth provide context only.
Does HummingDeck have a free plan?+
Yes. The free plan includes 5 documents and 5 active document links total across the workspace and one Room, with no time limit and no credit card required. DocSend has no free plan; it offers a 14-day trial.
Can I import my documents from DocSend?+
DocSend does not offer a direct export-import path. Download your original files from DocSend and upload them to HummingDeck; PDF, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and HTML are all supported. Visit history and audit records do not transfer, so export any records you must retain before canceling.
Does HummingDeck support team collaboration?+
Yes. Pro and Business are per-seat plans: buy a seat for each teammate, share the document library, manage contacts together, and work in shared Rooms with action plans and Discussions.
Does HummingDeck integrate with my CRM?+
HummingDeck integrates with Close CRM and Slack on Pro and above, and with Zapier on every plan. HubSpot is on the roadmap but not live yet. DocSend offers Salesforce as a paid add-on on eligible plans.
Is HummingDeck a good DocSend alternative for startups?+
For early-stage teams, usually yes: a permanent free plan, per-page analytics from $10 per month, and Rooms on every plan. If your process depends on native eSignature or NDA gates, keep DocSend or pair HummingDeck with a dedicated signature tool.
Can I use HummingDeck as an investor data room?+
For pitch tracking and investor outreach, yes: share your deck, financial model, and booking link in one Room, track engagement per document, and see return visits. For formal due diligence that requires NDA gates, watermarking, or audit logs, DocSend Advanced Data Rooms or a dedicated VDR is the safer choice.
